Library and bibliography
The library is a common workplace of the Institute of Slovak Literature of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (three staff members) and the Institute of World Literature of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (one staff member). Each Institute purchases literature and covers services separately, considering its research priorities, institutional budget and project funding.
The library serves as a reference library for researchers of the both Institutes
Library funds currently consists of fifty-six thousand one hundred and twenty-three items (books, bound years of periodicals, manuscripts and PhD dissertations). Besides scientific and specialized literature related to the area of literary studies, history of Slovak and other national literatures, methodology, theory of literature, literary history, comparative literary studies, translation studies, and theory of inter-literary communities, dictionaries of Slovak and world literatures, literature related to other social sciences, the library also contains Slovak and world belles-lettres and periodicals. It also includes books and periodicals of Jozef Felix containing six thousand seven hundred and fifty items, mostly from Romance literatures.
